11.23. Relay
GENERAL INFORMATION

Relays are applied to operated inclusion and shutdown of the silnotochny consumer under the influence of an electric signal of low power. On considered cars of the relay are included in chains of such consumers as units of fuel system, a starter, fog lights.

Relays are mounted in the uniform block located in a motor compartment, and also in various parts of the car. The relay can be got and checked, the faulty relay changes.

Check
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check with use of the scheme of turning on of the relay gives the most reliable results. If the scheme of inclusion is absent, execute checks taking into account the following data.
2. Pair of conclusions of any relay is connected to the coil providing operation of the relay. Other conclusions become in pairs isolated or disconnected at a coil zapityvaniye.
3. As a rule, distributing of contacts is specified on the relay case.
4. Connect one of conclusions of the coil of the relay to a positive conclusion of the battery through a wire with a thin delay as a safety lock. The second conclusion connect to weight. After connection click should be listened. If click is not present, change polarity of connection (polarity of connection matters on some relays).
5. Check chain existence between relay conclusions according to marking on the case.
6. If results of checks negative, with the relay replace.
