3.2.2. The types of repair which are carried out without removal of the engine from the car

GENERAL INFORMATION

Without removal of the engine from the car it is possible to perform the following works:

– to replace laying and epiploons.
– to remove hinged knots and units for replacement or repair.
– to execute repair (or replacement) heads of cylinders, pumps, the mechanism of a drive of valves, details of a drive of hinged units.
– to carry out adjusting works.

The Krivoshipno-shatunny mechanism, pistons and rings change (are under repair) after engine dismantle (see subsection 3.3.5).
