3.2.3. Installation of the piston of the 1st cylinder in VMT of a step of compression



It is meant that works are carried out at the correct installation of the distributor of ignition (on engines of 3,0 l). If it is necessary to redeem the correct position of the distributor, determine an engine step by feeling of a compression in the 1st cylinder at the turned-out candle then combine labels of the moment of ignition (see below).

Installation of the piston of the 1st cylinder in VMT of a step of compression is necessary for performance of adjusting and adjustment works (adjustment of valves, installation of the moment of ignition, etc.).

1. Transfer a control lever transmission to neutral situation. Exclude possibility of operation of ignition, having connected to weight the central wire of the distributor (3,0 l), or having disconnected the socket on each of 3 coils of ignition (3,4 l). It is necessary to consider that the crankshaft should be turned only clockwise.
Installation order on engines of 3,0 l
2. Designate a conclusion of a candle of the 1st cylinder a label on the distributor case.
3. Uncover the distributor.
4. Turn the crankshaft clockwise before combination risks on a crankshaft pulley with a label "0" on a motionless scale.
5. If the index a begunka of the distributor is opposite risks on the distributor case, the piston of the 1st cylinder is in VMT of a step of compression. If the begunok is turned on 180 ° from risks, turn the crankshaft on 1 turn then the piston of the 1st cylinder will be exposed in VMT of a step of compression. Thus labels on a scale and a pulley should be combined, and the index a begunka should be opposite the risks, designating a conclusion of the 1st cylinder.
6. Designate conclusions of other wires according to an engine operating procedure. Turning the crankshaft further clockwise concerning position VMT of the 1st cylinder, it is possible to expose the piston of each cylinder in VMT, combining the index a begunka with labels of conclusions.
Installation order on engines of 3,4 l
7. Turn out a candle of the 1st cylinder and attach a compression measuring instrument through a hose in length about 150 mm, having screwed the hose union in an opening for a candle.
8. Turn the crankshaft until then while pressure of a compression will not start to raise in process of rapprochement of labels on a pulley and on a scale. Having passed labels, remove a measuring instrument and turn further the crankshaft on 2 turns.


The most exact installation of the piston in VMT of a step of compression on such engines is reached by simultaneous combination of labels on a pulley of the crankshaft and on asterisks of cam-shafts (see subsection 3.1.7).
